Three steps to a number
1. Have your order ready
The exact exam your provider ordered, body part, and with or without contrast, determines the price.
2. We check your benefits
We verify your plan's deductible, copay and coinsurance and whether prior authorization is required.
3. You get a number before you book
We quote your expected out-of-pocket cost, or a flat self-pay price if you are not using insurance.
Why two patients pay different amounts
Which exam was ordered
An MRI, a CT, an ultrasound and an X-ray are priced very differently, and contrast adds a separate charge.
Where you are in your plan year
If your deductible is unmet, you may owe more than a patient with the same plan later in the year.
Insurance versus self-pay
Self-pay is a single flat price quoted upfront. Insurance splits the cost between your plan and you.
What to have with you
- Your provider's order, including the body part and whether contrast is required
- Your insurance card, including the member and group numbers
- The patient's name and date of birth
- Any prior authorization number your provider's office has already obtained
No order yet? We can still quote self-pay pricing for common exams over the phone.
